Find What Makes You Happy

daniellecover4_edited.jpgWhat is more important than finding something you love? For me it is horses. The summers can be a time of losing your edge when you have learning challenges. Finding something your child loves will help to keep them focused and engaged during the long summer months. I still find that the best way to lose the stress is to be with the horses. I volunteer at two therapeutic horse barns. There is no better way for me to de-stress and feel renewed than to be around horses. If your child loves something....animals, a sport or an activity then get the summer plan going and be sure they stay busy doing what they love.  For many who face learning challenges the academic year is a stressful and exhausting time. Summer, if not planned properly, can be a losing proposition. Discovering activities that your child loves and that challenge their brain to keep on cranking can make a huge difference. Move them forward by involving them in a summer plan that will make learning fun (if nearly invisible) and keep them busy. Without a summer where the mind and body stay at their peak, September can be spent reactivating both....and that is precious time kids with L.D. just can't afford to lose.

Start planning now for a happy, safe and active summer!
